Why me?

“Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting a bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian.”

why me

When we or people close to us encounter hardships, we often respond with “Why me?” or “Why them?”  We’ve been good, careful, healthy, etc. etc.  Why did this happen to me?

The reality is that challenges, hardships, and even disasters are natural parts of our journey on the planet.  We cannot stop these from happening by being “good”, although we can certainly improve our odds!  Certainly continue doing all you can to live a good life, to learn all you can, to provide for others as well as yourself.  But when the eventual challenges occur, don’t be surprised. Accept the natural flow of life, learn from the experience, and use this wisdom to improve your chances of avoiding similar situations in the future.

  1. When life presents itself at a time and in a way I won’t expect… what will I give back. It is my heart I must care for, for how will I see you, when I cannot see me.

    • No one can prescribe for you how you will face the challenges of life other than you. However, you can look to those who have endured similar challenges and learned to thrive. Each of us is different, yet so alike in our humanity. Inspiration to find our path is all around us and ready to assist on our journey – but only when we are ready to see.
